Types of Psychology

Psychology is a authority that studies mental behavior and reactions, systematically. It integrates symbolic interpretations for the analysis of social behavior. There are many types of psychology that are studied by their respective specialists

Psychology is a discipline and an skill that helps the individual, family and society to understand mental functions and prompt for positive, otherwise unexplainable social behavior. The different types of psychology explore neurological processes for human development. Psychology depends on the natural sciences for research. 

Some of them are as follows:
                        Clinical Psychology:
The branch of psychology concerned with the assessment and treatment of mental illness and disability.
Clinical Psychology is both a general practice and a health service provider specialty in professional psychology. Clinical Psychologists provide professional services relating to the analysis, evaluation, assessment, treatment and anticipation of psychological, emotional, psychophysiological and behavioral disorders in individuals across the lifespan. These services include procedures for understanding, predicting, and alleviating intellectual, emotional, physical, psychological, social and behavioral maladjustment, and mental illness, as well as other forms of discomfort.
                                 Abnormal Psychology:
Abnormal psychology is the branch of psychology that looks at psychopathology and abnormal behavior. The term covers a broad range of disorders, from depression to obsession-compulsion to sexual deviation and many more. Counselors, clinical psychologists, and psychotherapists often work directly in this field.
                                          Cognitive Psychology:
Cognitive psychology is the branch of psychology that explores internal states including attention, thinking, and decision-making. Learn more about some of the major topics within cognitive psychology including intelligence, memory and problem-solving.
                
                           Counseling psychology:
This science largely focuses on the development of the human mind. All the actions are directed towards a better understanding of perception and transformation. Intellectual, as well as ethical development is targeted at the end of every session.
Some unifying themes among counseling psychology include a focus on assets and strengths, person–environment interactions, educational and career development, brief interactions, and a focus on intact personalities.
                                         Behavioral Psychology:

Behavioral psychology is a branch of psychology that focuses on observable behaviors.   Conditioning, reinforcement and punishment are key concepts used by behaviorists.
Behaviorism   (or behaviorism), also called the learning perspective (where any physical action is a behavior), is a philosophy of psychology based on the proposition that all things that organisms do—including acting, thinking, and feeling—can and should be regarded as behaviors, and that psychological disorders are best treated by altering behavior patterns or modifying the environment.
                        Educational Psychology:
Educational psychology is the branch of psychology concerned with schools, teaching psychology, educational issues, and student concerned.
Educational Psychology is the study of how humans learn in educational settings, the effectiveness of educational interventions, the psychology of teaching, and the social psychology of schools as organizations.

                        Forensic Psychology:
Forensic psychology is the branch of psychology that deals with the intersection of psychology and the law.Forensic Psychology is the connection between psychology and justice system.It involves understanding criminal law in relevant jurisdictions in order to be able to interact appropriately with judges,attorneys and other legal professionals.An important aspect of forensic psychology is the ability to testify in court,reformulating psychological findings into the legal language of the courtroom,providing information to legal personnel in a away that can be understand.

                                       Health Psychology:

 Health psychology focuses on promoting health as well as the prevention and treatment of disease and illness
Health psychology is a branch of the science of psychology, and can be defined as the study of psychological and behavioral processes in health. Illness and healthcare. It is concerned with understanding how psychological and behavioral and cultural factors are involved in physical health and illness, in addition to the biological causes that are well understood by medical science. Psychological factors can impact health directly ( such as causing the release of hormones such as cortisol which damage the body over time) and directly via a person’s own behavior choices which can harm and protect health.
                           
                              Personality Psychology:

In personality psychology we learn how to grow,change,mold our personality.It help us to understand what our personality actual is.It helps individual in studying individual differences with the help of different personality theories and personality tests.
Its areas of focus include:
·         Constructing a coherent picture of the individual and his or her major psychological processes
·         Investigating individual differences—how people are unique
·         Investigating human nature....how people are alike.

                             Cross Cultural Psychology :

Cross-cultural psychology is a branch of psychology that looks at how cultural factors influence human behavior.
                                    Positive Psychology:
Positive psychology is a branch of psychology focused on understanding human well-being and 
Happiness.
                               
                                    Biological Psychology :

Biological psychology studies the mental frame as a biological substrate. This branch of psychology investigates behavior that springs from reactions within the nervous system. Most of the research is conducted via experiments with behavioral and cognitive neuroscience. The aim is to understand the function of the brain with regards to different psychological triggers and processes. Biological psychology links human behavior with the brain to study the areas within the brain connected with certain reactions.



                           Social Psychology :

Social psychology seeks to explain and understand social behavior,group behavior and how we interact on social bases.

Psychology is a vast field where human perception,thoughts,behaviors are studied in order to achieve a standard of assessment and analysis of the mentioned variables.
